Last yr the New York Times had a lot of success amongst a serial of maps visualizing sports fans based on Facebook 'likes'. First it released a Map of the Baseball Nation. It followed this by Mapping the Basketball Nation. Then it got unopen to to football with the College Football Fan Map.
Where Facebook has 'likes' Twitter has followers. So Twitter has decided to practise its ain sports fan map of football game teams inward the UK's Premier League. The map shows the geographical spread of followers of each of the official Twitter accounts for each Premier League team. Using the Premier League Follower Map it is possible to lead each of the private Premier League teams together with sentiment where their Twitter followers are based unopen to the world.
